By definition, parasites will use you as their own personal room and board provider. Your intestines are their five star restaurant and your blood, and anything else that passes through, is what they dine on. While they are extremely unconducive to a person’s well-being, it is treatable if you know what symptoms to look for.
While you may not notice any out-of-the-ordinary symptoms at first, once the parasite population starts to take over you will certainly feel some symptoms. Typically, symptoms start with abdominal pain, escalating to diarrhea or even nausea and vomiting. If you have internal parasites, you may also experience weight loss and fatigue. Other symptoms may include gas or bloating, stomach pain, and a rash or itching around the rectum. Of course, if you pass a worm in your stool you should go to the doctor immediately.
More seriously, inflammation of the intestinal wall caused by parasites and their excrements can make it difficult for your body to absorb all of the nutrients from your food. This can cause anemia, dizziness, and chronic fatigue. Inflamed intestinal walls can also cause food to get caught, producing excessive toxins in the intestines. If the liver and kidneys become overwhelmed with toxins to filter, the toxins may start to filter out through the skin which can cause skin problems and hair loss.
It can be hard for a doctor to make a firm diagnosis of internal parasites, but to attempt to do so they will take a sample of your blood, stool, or both. Many times, parasites or their eggs can be found in the stool if they are present, but if the eggs or parasites are too small to see it may be necessary to investigate further. Close inspection of stool samples under a microscope in addition to a blood sample will usually give the doctor enough evidence to diagnose one way or the other.
If you think you may have internal parasites, you must begin treatment as soon as possible. Upon death, these parasites attempt to burrow into the intestines to escape toxins and this can make eliminating them even more difficult.
