1) Use Consistently
Lather up with Tinea Versicolor Soap at least twice a day for 4-10 days. *Depending on the severity of the outbreak it may take longer to see improvement.
2) Soak In The Suds
Allow the sulfur soap to sit on the skin for a few minutes before rinsing it off with water. After drying off, we recommend applying our Tinea Versicolor Lotion for large areas and our Tinea Versicolor Treatment Liquid for the more difficult spots.
3) Soak Up The Sunlight
After the outbreak is cleared, you will still have discoloration on your skin, be sure to get in the sun and soak up some rays to return the coloration to your skin!
Where did this stuff come from? How did I get it?
Tinea versicolor fungus can be found on healthy, normal skin. The tinea fungus will only become a problem when the fungus begins to overgrow.
Several factors can trigger the growth, including hot/humid weather, oily skin, hormonal changes that you might be going through (e.g., puberty, pregnancy, menopause), and a weakened immune system (e.g., autoimmune disorder, cold/flu, lack of sleep, anxiety, new prescription or non-prescription drugs, etc.)
Once it's gone, will it come back?
Tinea versicolor fungus is likely to come back after treatment, unfortunately.
Thankfully, you can quickly treat the tinea in the early stages with Naturasil and help keep the infection contained when it does come up.
Can I give Tinea to anyone else?
Tinea versicolor is not contagious; you can not pass this along to friends or loved ones.
How do Naturasil Tinea products work?
Naturasil products harness the power of sulfur and combine the soothing nature of lavender to kill the fungus that covers your skin gently. Once the fungus is eliminated, your skin needs to get back into UV Rays (the Sun) to allow the damaged skin to begin to rebuild melanin.
Melanin is a complex protein that makes your skin, hair, and eyes the color they are. Once the melanin protein is produced by your skin cells, the natural color will return.
When can I expect results?
Results may vary, but generally, results are seen in 7-10 days.
Please Remember: Tinea Versicolor is known to reoccur. To reduce the chances of reoccurring, you may continue using Naturasil Tinea Versicolor Medicated Soap or Tinea Versicolor Lotion once or twice weekly.
How do you properly store this product? What is the shelf life?
All products should be stored in a cool place out of direct sunlight, like a cupboard or closet.
When stored correctly, the concentrated liquid has a 3-year shelf life. Our medicated soaps hold a two-year shelf life when stored appropriately, and our medicated lotion has a one-year shelf life (after it has been opened).
How long will these products last me?
Depending on the area you are treating and the number of times these products are used to treat your tinea will depend on how long the product will last.
Heavy Use: (Soap 2 times a day and lotion 2-3 times daily) Should last 2/3 weeks. (Initial Treatment Recommendations)
Medium Use: (Soap 1-2 times a day & Lotion 1-2 times daily) Should last 3/4 weeks. (Continued Treatment for Trouble spots)
Light Use: (Soap 1-2 times a week & Lotion 1-2 times a week) Should last 2+ months. (Occasional Treatment/Proactive Treatment)
Can I use this if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Please consult your physician before using any of our treatments.
