The root cause of the condition is not well classified, but could be caused by autoimmune disorders. The nodes often appear do to a never ending itch scratch cycle, and can appear anywhere on the skin that you may scratch or pick at.

The underlying itch is often from atopic dermatitis but can also be caused by various systemic illnesses.

The main symptom will be itching and hard bumps called nodules. Regardless of the cause, once an itch-scratch cycle begins, stopping without treatment can be very difficult.

Prurigo nodularis - It starts as a rash but with constant itching presents welts, nodes, and scabs.

  • Why Sulfur?

Simply put, sulfur is a natural element that is an essential component for all living cells. After calcium and phosphorus, it is the third most abundant mineral in the human body. Sulfur is common in rocks and minerals and is essential for plant growth. It's also found throughout our body in amino acids, vitamins, skin, and hair. Sulfur is best known for its vibrant yellow color and strong (egg-like) smell. Sulfur has been used throughout history for medical purposes ranging from a medicinal tonic to a vermifuge (deworming agent).*

  • Sulfur + Lavender = A Power Couple

We have now learned the many uses of Sulfur! This essential element works because it offers anti-bacterial and antifungal properties. It cleans, clears, and destroys all bacteria and fungi to leave your skin fresh.

Lavender, on the other hand, holds many calming properties. It has been used medicinally as a disinfectant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and aromatherapy throughout the ages. Lavender is best known for it's soothing properties which help the skin to remain healthy and soft after treating whatever ailment you might be suffering with.

  • Why Do We Love It?

Utilizing what we know about Sulfur, we have developed a soap that eliminates pesky blemishes, irritating itches, and embarrassing skin problems.
The Sulfur in our soap breaks down bacteria and fungus. At the same time, Lavender Oil offers soothing relief and anti-inflammatory properties. This powerful combination has made this soap one of our company's best-selling products over the last 20+ years and is featured in a variety of our treatment packs. "All I have to say is if you have what I have (prurigo) this soap is life-saving."

- BornFree

"I got these little bumps on my legs and armpits after shaving, I chalked it up to razor bumps, but they didn't go away even after a couple of days. It started to get really itchy and looked strange so I went to the doc and they said I have folliculitis, I had never even heard of such thing. I had a severe allergic reaction to the chemicals in the cream they gave me, making everything even worse. I opted for a natural solution and found Naturasil, after bathing with this soap once, the itching stopped, after a few days the bumps nearly gone. It is worth it. "

"I got a mystery welt like rash, I wasn't sure what it was but it sure did itch. I had some of this soap leftover from when I had an issue with mites a few months back. The relief was immediate, I'll keep this around from now on"

- R. Salvatore

"I just happened to have some of this soap at home for my cystic acne problems when my son got into some poison ivy playing out back in the woods by the creek. After some research, I compared the ingredients to what I found online and decided to give it a try. I am so happy I did. No more itching! Plus the rash was gone in a matter of 48 hours. "

- Sue R.

"Originally I bought this to help combat the Scabies that my husband came into contact with being a firefighter. It helped out alongside prescription treatment. Those little boogers were a pain to get rid of! This soap helped dry up the spots and made my skin less itchy. No strong odor like most sulfur soaps! Now they are gone but I still use the soap 3 times a week to help with acne! It was gentle enough to use on my 2.5-year-old and while I was pregnant! Love this product! I’ll continue to order and use it because I like it that much!"

- Kerri L.

"I have no idea what I got into, whether it be poison sumac or poison oak, but I couldn't find relief from the intolerable itch. Calamine lotion only did the trick while it was on there, once it dried I was back to scratching to death and accidentally spread the rash all over. I found this soap, and I found my relief. Thank you Naturasil.
