Natural Beauty Weekend: DIY Treatments to Try Out!

After a busy week, there is something so many of us look forward to - and that is a relaxing and perhaps a pampering weekend. Self-care is important to help ease tension and stress that builds up. The reality is, it can be tough to splurge on a day at a spa for various reasons. The following are a few all- natural, do-it-yourself body, face, and hair treatments that go a long way to helping you enjoy a ‘spa’ day at home without hurting your wallet.

All-Natural Hair Conditioning Mask

This hair mask is one of my personal favorites to help rehydrate my hair and to help soothe an itchy dry scalp! It does involve getting a little messy, but the end results are worth it.

Egg & Olive Oil Hair Mask

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of your favorite olive oil

What to do:

  • Crack both eggs in a bowl and add in olive oil, whisk until thoroughly blended.
  • Add the mixture to your hair from scalp to ends, gently massaging it in.
  • Use a disposable shower cap or plastic shopping bag to careful wrap your hair and keep the mixture from leaking/dripping everywhere!
  • Leave on for about 30 mins
  • Rinse the mixture out thoroughly with cool to lukewarm water*
  • Shampoo and condition your hair like normal and enjoy the results!

*Cool to lukewarm water is ideal to rinsing out this hair mask. The eggs can and may ‘cook’ in your hair if the water’s temperature is too hot!*

The best part of do it yourself natural beauty treatments is that they are generally simple to make and are much better and easier on your skin than treatments you can buy that can contain many harsh chemicals. The other benefit is knowing that you can also find other safe and all natural ingredients you can add in to make the treatments more personalized to you!

Take care of yourself this weekend and try these out!
