Cherry Angiomas

What are Cherry Angiomas?

A cherry angioma is a noncancerous (benign) skin growth of blood vessels. The skin is the largest organ of the body. The integumentary system comprises the skin and its derivatives (hair, nails, sweat, and oil glands). One of the main functions of the skin is protection.

Cherry Angiomas Treatment?

Many treatment options are available for cherry angioma, but most could be more pleasant. The most common treatment options doctors offer is cryosurgery, which uses extreme cold to kill the skin cells treated. It is quick but somewhat painful and generally leaves a scar. Extreme cold is produced by applying liquid nitrogen to the affected area. Even with skilled physicians, this treatment can be challenging and allow for error. Even less reliable are the over-the-counter versions of this treatment.

Other options available are laser surgery and electrosurgery. Laser surgery is the opposite of cryosurgery; the laser uses extreme heat to burn off cherry angiomas. Laser surgery is also known for leaving scars, much more so than cryosurgery (though both are scarring culprits). Electrosurgery uses an electrified needle to send an electrical current through the cherry angioma, destroying it on contact. However, electrosurgery is expensive and meticulous; it always leaves a scar.

Naturasil for Cherry Angiomas is an all-natural treatment that works by drying up the papules and allowing them to flake away. This allows the body to heal naturally. While it does take a few weeks to see the cherry angioma eliminated, it is painless and will not cause scarring. It is made with organic ingredients, including lavender, Cyprus, and geranium extracts.
