If you want to eliminate bed bugs, mites, fleas, or Scabies from your mattress, you can use a combination of steam and a vacuum to treat it. Once treated, it's recommended to cover the bed with a protective cover. You can leave the cover on permanently, or at the very least, for 2-3 weeks for optimal results.

To maintain the mattress cover, it's a good idea to vacuum it every 10 to 14 days to remove any allergens that may have accumulated on the surface.
A HEPA vacuum or an allergen-proof vacuum bag is recommended.
You can also machine wash the cover once or twice a year in hot water and tumble dry it on the lowest setting.
Avoid using bleach, ironing, or dry cleaning the cover.
